New Years outfit ideas

Ok, so as promised I have put together some more outfit ideas for New Years and since it's getting closer and closer I thought it would be a good idea to use wardrobe staple pieces so that the ones of you who are out in the last minute could find the outfits already in your wardrobe or if you'll just need some last minute inspiration....

THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS

New Years outfit

Choosing to go with a dress for New Years is I'm guessing the most classic and standard choice, and of course a favourite, but I'm not the biggest fan of the typical 'over the top sequin dress'. Although if it's styled and accessorised in the right way it could be quit fabulous, but not everyone has a sequin dress hanging in their closet, so instead I chose to go with an absolute classic 'The little black dress'. Match it with a classic pair of pumps and to add the New Years sparkle wear it with a statement necklace, earrings, eye catching clutch and to top it all of, some colourful nails!

Dress Helmut Lang
Clutch Clare Vivier
Earrings Marc by Marc Jacobs
Nail polish Yves Saint Laurent
Necklace Bar 111

THE FLARED PANTS + CROPPED TOP

In my opinion a pair of flared trousers matched with a nice top could be just as festive and stylish as as any dress. Since I chose to go with a sort of sparkly top, I'm going for a nice headpiece and a big cocktail ring instead of a statement necklace, but if you choose to do this look with a plain top I would definitely go with a necklace. Add a classic clutch bag, some strappy heels, a smokey eye and you're ready to go. Personally I think a look like this is much more fun and really some great accessories can make any outfit feel New Years ready!

Trousers Alexander Wang
Top Topshop
Clutch Yves Saint Laurent
Eyeshadow Dior
Ring House of Harlow
Heels Marc Jacobs

THE PEPLUM TOP + PENCIL SKIRT

An other option to the dress is to wear a skirt and top, for this outfit I've chosen to go with the classic pencil skirt and peplum top, I really like this combination because together they pretty much make an interesting dress and to pull this look together I added a waist belt, which I think really completes the look. And just as before I've chosen to focus on the accessories when it comes to adding the sparkle, I really do believe that everything lies in the details, the statement necklace, sequin clutch and red lips is really what makes this look feel like a great outfit for New Years.

Top H&M
Clutch Betsey Johnson
Lipstick Givenchy
Necklace Nakamol
Belt Lafayette 148
Skirt Nadia Tarr
Ankle boots Stuart Weitzman

I hope you like this and that it will be helpful when it comes to deciding your outfit for New Years, Let me know what you think... and like I've said everything lies in the detail, add some great jewellery, fabulous make up and a nice hairdo and any outfit will look amazing so don't fuzz to much and make it more difficult then it has to be. Bottom line, my advice is keep things simple and I promise it will turn out great! Lots of love and a HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYBODY!
